At 10 Janpath, Congress workers were celebrating and were very happy as UPA was leading in the Lok Sabha Elections. In New Delhi, Congress has managed to maintain lead over opposition.

Congress party is now expecting invitation from President Prathibha Patil to form a government. Congress General Secretary B K Hariprasad was confident that Congress will emerge as single largest party.

Congress Party workers and major leaders are confident that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh led UPA government will return to power again. The Congress party expects to return to power on a firm base with more seats in Lok Sabha. This will lead to a stable government and will help in continuation of the current projects.

In Himachal Pradesh, BJP was leading on all the four seats. BJP was leading in Bihar.

Congress was leading on 9 out of 10 seats in Haryana. Congress Party has been able to register gains in early trends in Punjab as well.

Ruling party BJP was leading on 10 out of 28 seats in Karnataka.

During the first rounds of counting, Left was ahead on only 10 seats.
