U2 plan 100-date stadium tour to promote new album
London, Mar 09 : Rock band U2 have planned a 100-date stadium tour, which would continue for the next 18 months, in a bid to promote their new album `No Line On The Horizon'.
The band will kick off the gargantuan tour in Barcelona on June 30, before heading to America in September, reports Billboard.
The band hope to stay on road until autumn 2010, by playing between 90 and 100 shows across Europe and America.
"We''re very excited about the idea to go on the road with this album. It''s an album that I think is going to translate so well to the live context. The songs we''ve tried in rehearsal are sounding fantastic, so that''s got everyone really fired up," the Daily Express quoted guitarist The Edge as saying.
The U2360 stadium trek will officially be announced on March 9. (ANI)
