Two die as fire guts homeless shelter in Germany
Warin, Germany - A fire gutted part of a homeless shelter near Germany's Baltic coast early Wednesday, killing two guests. Two people survived injured. Police in the nearby city of Schwerin said firefighters evacuated 40 people from the complex in Warin, a small rural town in former East Germany, 180 kilometres northwest of Berlin.
It was not immediately clear what caused the fire, which broke out in attic accommodation in an annexe building just after midnight. The annexe was almost gutted, but the main building in the complex was unharmed, and its 20 residents returned to their accommodation.(dpa)
