Twitter reportedly testing a new feature called “edit”
Social-networking site Twitter is reportedly working on a new feature called "edit" that would allow users to make changes to their tweets even after they have been published, The Desk reported.
Citing anonymous sources, The Desk reported that the new feature would allow users to edit their already published tweets. However, sources "close to the project" also said that the new feature would offer a limited time period to make small changes in the published tweets.
It means users will be able to add a couple of words or fix a typo in their already published tweets. There would be a limit of one editing session per tweet.
The report about the "edit" feature surfaced just a couple of days after the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) that the micro-blogging site was testing a new feature called "Nearby" which allowed its users to see tweets posted in their local area in real time.
The feature "Nearby" reportedly shows tweets from other users irrespective of the follow relationship among them. However, it works only for those users who opt in to show their location with their tweets.
While the "Nearby" feature is reportedly being tested in the public, the "edit" feature has not been made available for public testing.
