Toyota to offer Prius hybrid with a power outletJapanese auto major, Toyota will soon offer its Prius hybrid with a power outlet, which will be able to provide electricity supply to a household for about two days.

Toyota will offer an optional AC power-point in its Prius hybrid car allowing users to use power from the car’s battery to run electronic appliances. According to a report, the company planned the optional AC point after the devastating earthquake that struck Japan earlier this year.

Several Toyota's hybrid-powered Estima van users were using their car batteries to power household appliances in the aftermath of the disaster. The company sad that it will a power-point as an option on Prius models from 2012.

The option will initially only be available in Japan due to various different voltage requirements and regulations.
