Washington, Dec 17: Hollywood actor Tom Cruise wants his daughter Suri to follow in his and wife Katie Holmes' acting footsteps.

The `Valkyrie' actor stated that though he would give his kids the freedom to choose their own career, he would be overjoyed if they would go for acting, reports Contactmusic.

He said: "She can be whatever she wants. All my kids (can do) whatever they want to do in life. When I was growing up, I always wanted to travel the world. I wanted to not just be enveloped by different cultures, but learn about their history and how they do things.

"And that's how I raise my kids - so that they have full exposure to the world, and all different kinds of ideas and possibilities so that they can make choices themselves.

"I'd love it (if she wanted to act). Acting is work that I love. I love to create life and give energy, create characters and create stories. It's a lot of fun."

Tom also said that both he and wife Katie Holmes would always teach their kids to pursue any career with great aggression.

"I do have a thing - if you want to do it, really do it. Don't be passive about it," Tom said. (ANI)
