The Telugu film industry on had a Twenty 20 cricket tournament at the Lal Bahadur Stadium. The teams were divided into Chiru Cheetahs, Balaiah Lions, Nag Kings and Venky Warriors.

The first encounter was between the Balaiah Lions and Venky Warriors which the Venky Warriors had won convincingly. Nag Kings had won the next match against Chiru Cheetahs. As usual, the T20 type hottest format of cricketing competition soon surfaced for the final encounter between the Nag Kings and Venky Warriors which the Nag Kings had managed to win comprehensively. Akkineni Akhil, son of Nagaruna, was declared man of the series for his all-round performance.

Jr NTR with his batting (23 runs) and Ram Charan Teja with his tight bowling and good fielding (three wickets and two catches) had entertained the crowd.

The Movie Artistes Association had handed over a cheque for Rs 15 lakhs to Chief Minister K. Rosaiah for the benefit of the handloom weavers, Rs 8 lakhs to city commissioner, AK Khan for police fund, Rs 5 lakhs for the AP Film Industry Employees Federation and Rs 3 lakhs for AP Cine Dancers and directors association.

The organizers of the event, Rhythm Media, gave the association a cheque for Rs 1.5 crore.
