Toledo’s GDP rose 3.2% in 2012, report
According to the latest figures released, Toledo's gross domestic product recorded an increase of 3.2 per cent in 2012 making it the 84th fastest growing city in the country.
The U. S. Bureau of Economic Analysis also said that the incidentally the city also ranked 84th among the nation's 381 metropolitan areas with a gross domestic product of $28.3 billion in 2012. The bureau's study of Gross Domestic Product, which was released this Tuesday, also showed that Toledo's rate of growth was at 3.2 per cent in 2010 and 4.6 per cent in 2011.
The Monroe metro recorded an impressive growth of 5.3 per cent obtaining a rank of 22nd in the country and its GDP stood at $4.1 billion, which ranked 328th in the nation. Erie metropolitan areas recorded an increase in tis GDP from $9.68 billion to $9.95 billion during the previous year. Erie County's GDP had risen 5.3 per cent in 2011 but grew just 1 per cent in 2012.
The analysis also showed that the real GDP in metro areas around the country rose by an average of 2.5 per cent in 2012 after recording an average growth of 1.7 per cent in 2011.
