Titan Industries to open 50 more stores in by the end of FY08A Tata Group subsidiary, Titan Industries will open 50 more exclusive stores for its popular watch brand by the end of the current fiscal, a top company official told during a press conference. Presently, Titan has 250 exclusive outlets in the country. Along with it, the company has plans for store expansion for its jewellery, watches and eyewear divisions. The company is also ramping up operations overseas, with a Tanishq retail jewellery outlet, which is expected to open in the US by next month. Recently, the company has created the world's biggest gold bangle made of 22 carat pure gold. The bangle made at Erode in Tamil Nadu measures 1,830 millimetre in diameter and 140 millimetre in width. It weighs 24,505 grams. Titan Industries has registered a 79% increase in net profit to Rs 32.22 crore for the first quarter of the current fiscal as against Rs 17.99 crore for the corresponding period of last year. The income from operations went up by 23% to Rs 819.06 crore. The company is expecting to grow its revenues by 20-25% in the 2008-09 despite of slowdown due to surge in inflation, oil and volatile gold prices.
