Three people killed by militants in Indian Kashmir
New Delhi - At least three members of a family were killed by suspected Muslim militants in India-administered Kashmir on Friday, news reports said.
A group of militants barged into a house in a village in the Reasi district in the early hours of Friday and shot dead the three, the PTI news agency reported.
Police said the victims belonged to one family and included a woman, the IANS news agency said in its report.
Police teams were sent to the area, located 120 kilometres north of the state's winter capital Jammu, to investigate the killings.
The disputed Kashmir region is divided into two parts, one administered by India the other by Pakistan. The neighbours have fought two wars over the disputed region.
More than 45,000 people have died in violence since violent secessionist militant movement emerged in the 1980s. (dpa)
