Three bodies found decapitated in Tijuana

Three bodies found decapitated in TijuanaMexico City  - Three decapitated men were found early Friday next to a tomb in the northern Mexican city of Tijuana, after an anonymous comment about the location of the bodies was post on a news website.

The tip was posted late Thursday at a discussion forum of www. tijuanapress. com. The content of the message suggested links to organized crime.

Police found the bodies wrapped in plastic, while the heads were in a black bag. The victims, believed to be between 20 and 40 years old, were not immediately identified.

The discovery brings to seven the number of decapitated bodies found since January 1 in Tijuana, which lies on the US border, just south of San Diego, California.

Prosecutor's said in a statement that four bodies found decapitated on Wednesday in Tijuana match missing 17-year-old boys, who have already been named. Forensic reports say the teenagers were beaten and tortured before being strangled and decapitated.

In 2008 in Mexico, more than 5,600 people were killed in slayings linked to organized crime and mostly blamed on turf wars among drug gangs trafficking narcotics into the United States. Tijuana has become an epicentre of the drug violence in Mexico. (dpa)
