Those seeking romance and have many options consider height and weight as quick parameters
Scottish and British researchers have said that if those seeking romance have many possibilities, they weed out prospects using a quick gauge i. e. height and weight.
Data from 84 speed dating events was examined by psychological scientist Alison Lenton of the University of Edinburgh and economist Marco Francesconi of the University of Essex.
People met numerous potential dates for several minutes each and then indicated if they want a date.
It was also concluded by the researchers that when the dating events were large both men and women chose attributes in which they could judge quickly, such as height and weight.
The researchers found that women preferred men who were taller and not too skinny, while men preferred women who weren't overweight.
The study further said that at smaller events, when the men and women had more time to make choices, the people looked at level of education, type of job and whether the person smokes.
