Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic: Movie Review!

Ace Bollywood director Kunal Kohli has now come out with his latest offeringThoda Pyaar Thoda Magic: Movie Review! ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’ to re-establish the somewhat lost magic of Yash Raj Films.

After Yash Raj’s ‘Tashan’, ‘Aaja Nachle’ and ‘Jhoom Barabar Jhoom’, which failed to make a splash at the box office, Saif-Rani starrer ‘Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic’ certainly comes as a breather for the Yash Raj banner plus movie buffs.

Kunal, the director of the hit ‘Hum Tum’, has really made a brilliant attempt to get the team together again to revive some ‘Pyaar’ and ‘Magic’ for Yash Raj.

Starring Rani Mukherji, Saif Ali Khan, Ameesha, Rishi Kapoor, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic is a children’s movie.

The whole movie revolves around four children, who lost their parents in a road accident. Saif Ali Khan as Ranbir Talwar, a hot-shot businessman, was responsible for their parents’ death. The court instructed Ranbir to look after the children until they turn 18 years of age.

Ranbir, who opens his home to the kids, can not seem to reach out to them emotionally. Ranbeer hates kids because he is still living in the past of his lost childhood (his mother died when he was too young).

The children hate Ranbir very much, and decided to seek revenge on Ranbir for orphaning them.

Exactly why the complete turn takes place is hard to tell, but it is thought that this may have been the point of the movie.

In order to help the children cope with their pain, and to help Ranbir deal with the kids, God has a meeting with his angels to bring sanity to this situation.

God (played by Rishi Kapoor in an all-white ensemble, a French-beard and slicked-back hair) chooses his most enlivened angel ‘Geeta’ (Rani Mukherji) and sends her to make all things right in that house.

Down comes an Angel, Geeta, on a cycle as the kids’ new governess, to assist the two warring parties’ reason out with the help of a little love, and a dash of magic from her side.

How the kids make up with Ranbir and how Ranbir reconsiders is what the film is all about.

The kids at the centre of this story are so adorable and they suck viewers into their story. Moreover, Kunal has made intelligent use of animation and special effects to put in dynamism to the proceedings. Kids really love it.

Ameesha Patel has a guest appearance as Ranbeer's girlfriend in the movie. Amisha, who plays her character fabulously and looks stunning in her eye-catching outfits.

Besides that, the film overstays its welcome when it drudges on for a good 15 minutes after the children have settled their issues with Ranbir. The loving track between Ranbir and Geeta looks obligatory at best. The chemistry between Rani and Saif is still intact and they have some cute moments.

The music is nothing to shout about but overall, a decent fare, which the kids will love to watch.
