Bangkok - Thai shares jumped almost 3 per cent in value Monday on growing confidence in the US economy's recovery.

The Stock Exchange of Thailand index closed up 2.96 per cent at 506.26 points, it the highest in six months.

"Investors were encouraged by the improved economic outlook for the USA," Adkinsons Securities analyst Chaiyod Jitwankul said. (dpa)
