HCL-Xerox sign six-year transformation deal; HCL shares soar 8.18%

HCL-Xerox The bigwig information technology service provider HCL Technologies has signed a $100 million six-year transformation deal with document management firm, Xerox Corporation, for the outsourcing of data-center services. The two companies already entered into a partnership in November, according to which HCL would facilitate companies in the incorporation of Xerox's manage print services into their systems.

JSW Steel reports highest-ever 4Q output; shares up by 10.4%

JSW Steel LtdReporting its highest-ever fourth-quarter crude steel output figures of 11.06 lakh tonnes, steel manufacturer JSW Steel Ltd has shown an 11 percent growth as compared to the same quarter last year figures.

For the month of March 2009 alone, JSW Steel - the third largest producer of alloy in India - posted crude steel production of 4.56 lakh tones; which marked a 28 percent growth from the year-before figures, and a 39 percent on a chronological basis.

Bharti Airtel announced Airtel Broadband 16 mbps

Airtel BroadbandThe largest cellular service provider of India, Bharti Airtel has announced to launch Airtel Broadband, which, according to the company, is the fastest wired broadband plan in India. The Anand, Gujarat based Bharti Airtel has announced two tariff plans - 20GB and 50GB data transfer limits for its Airtel Broadband 16 mbps.

According to Bharti Airtel, Airtel Broadband 16 mbps service, powered by the company's Ethernet Network, will be launched in Delhi NCR, Chennai and Bangalore in the first phase, and later in the cities of Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai and Kolkata.

Sony’s PlayStation 3 edges out Nintendo’s Wii in March sales in Japan

Sony-PlayStation3It was first time in sixteen months Sony's PlayStation 3 jumped ahead of Nintendo's Wii, in sales in Japan - says Enterbrain, the Japanese magazine known for tracking the sales of video games and video game consoles.

According to Enterbrain, Sony's PlayStation 3 edged out Nintendo's Wii in March sales in Japan.

Enterbrain has reported that Sony sold 146,948 units of PlayStation 3, while Nintendo sold 99,335 units of Wii, and Microsoft sold 43,172 units of Xbox 360s during the month of March in Japan.
