Jet Airways stresses on its “consolidation” in present market conditions

Jet AirwaysAccording to reports, India's foremost privately-owned airline Jet Airways intends slashing its fleet capacity - the airline had earlier announced 18-20% reduction in its winter schedule from October to February.

The airline's Chief Commercial Officer Sudheer Raghavan said that the cuts result from "excess manpower," the company would try to redeploy the affected fleet members for providing better customer service.

Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) For its two-year postgraduate programme (PGP) in management, Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) has raised its fees by Rs. 1 lakh, which means a rise of Rs. 50,000 in each of the two years.

The new fee structure will affect the students securing admission in the academic year 2010. They will have to pay Rs. 12.5 lakh for the PGPM - which means a break-up of Rs. 6 lakh instead of the earlier Rs. 5.5 lakh for the first year; and Rs. 6.5 lakh in place of Rs. 6 lakh for the subsequent year.

L&T Receives Rs 345 Crore Order From NPCIL; Stock Down 3.4%Larsen & Toubro, India’s largest maker of equipment for the nuclear power sector, has announced that it has received an order from the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL).

The scope of the order, which is valued at Rs 345 crore, includes design, manufacture and supply of four steam generators for 700 megawatt electric (MWe) pressurised heavy water reactors.

In an announcement, the company said that the steam generators would be supplied to the Kakrapar Atomic Power project 3 and 4.

Some selling also emerged in the broader markets. BSE Midcap Index was down 0.64% while BSE Smallcap Index moved 0.24 per cent lower.

Today, (Monday, March 30), the 30-share index, BSE Sensex belled the week at 9,902.35 after losing 146.14 points.

Sun Pharma Gets USFDA Nod To Market Generic Topamax TabsSun Pharmaceutical Industries announced that it has secured final approval from US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) for its abbreviated new drug application (ANDA) to market generic Topamax, topiramate tablets.

Topiramate, is a generic version of epilepsy drug Topamax, owned by Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical Inc, a division of Johnson & Johnson.

The tablets are available in four different potencies including 25 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg, and 200 mg.

The twelve-monthly sales of Topamax tabs stood at $2.5 billion in the US.

NVIDIA Lodges Countersuit Against IntelFor breach of agreement, NVIDIA Corp. has registered a countersuit against Intel Corporation in the Court of Chancery in the State of Delaware.

The action also seeks to end Intel's license to NVIDIA's graphic processing and 3D computing patents.

NVIDIA's countersuit was made in response to a suit filed by Intel during the last month in the Delaware court, aggressively claiming that the 4-year old chipset license deal does not expand to work on Intel's future generation processors - Nehalem aka Core i7 chips.
