Scheme to improve middle school education in India approved

middle school education New Delhi, Jan 2 : The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today approved the implementation of a centrally sponsored scheme to universalise access to and improve quality of education at secondary stage, called Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) during the 11th Five Year Plan.

As regards the financing pattern and fund flow, Union Government shall bear 75 per cent of the project expenditure during the 11th Five Year Plan, with 25 per cent of the cost to be borne by State Governments.

Sea water reverse osmosis plant to be established in Chennai

ChennaiNew Delhi, Jan 2 : The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today gave its approval for the construction of one ''100 MLD Sea Water Reverse Osmosis Desalination Plant'' at Nemmeli near Chennai at a total cost of Rs. 908.28 crore.

Of the total amount, Rs. 871.24 crore will be borne by the Central Government and will be given as grant to the Government of Tamil Nadu for implementing the aforesaid project.

Defence journal Sainik Samachar turns 100 todayNew Delhi, Jan. 2: Defence Minister AK Antony today released a coffee table book "Soldiering On" to commemorate the centenary of the Sainik Samachar, the fortnightly journal of India's Armed Forces, here today.

The journal had started its journey, rather tentatively, as a sixteen page Urdu Weekly on January 2, 1909, to provide to Army personnel a summary of news with a military bias. Rare photographs, memorable documents and vignettes of the heroics of the Indian Armed Forces are the hallmarks of the coffee table book.

The singer gave birth to son Max Liron, her first child with husband Jordan Bratman, in January, reports China Daily.

But Aguilera has admitted that she was amazed to experience how much the female anatomy could endure during labour.

"I really have a newfound respect for the female body after going through this process," Aguilera said.

Rs 2 Crore Theft From HQ? No, That’s Not A Fact, Says BJP

Around Rs2 crore was reportedly missing from a safe, kept in the accounts room, next to BJP President Rajnath Singh’s office. The ‘theft’ was reportedly detected on December 26 by the Deputy Accounts Officer Nalin.

The party sources have set up an internal inquiry and have engaged the services of a private detective agency. However no complaint has been lodged with the police.
