New Delhi, Nov 25 : Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Murli Deora has said that India welcomes participation of companies from CIS regions for investing in the Oil and Gas sector in India.

Speaking at the inaugural session of India-CIS roundtable in New Delhi today, Deora said that the possible areas for investments include Greenfield refineries and petro-chemical projects, exploration and production through New Exploration Licensing Policy (NELP).

New Delhi, Nov. 25 : At a time when the country is faced with challenging times in the wake of global economic slowdown, the former Finance Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Pary leader, Yashwant Sinha, believes there is need to adapt demand-boosting measures to ensure a bright future for the country.

"It''s the cost of money which is the huge dampener. It has affected affordability at the corporate-level. It has affected affordability at the individual level," said Yashwant Sinha in interview with Asian News International.

New Delhi - At least five policemen were on Tuesday killed in a landmine blast triggered by suspected Maoist rebels in India's central state of Chhattisgarh, a news report said.

The explosion that took place in the southern Bastar district of the state blew up a bridge killing five policemen and injuring two other security personnel, the PTI news agency reported quoting senior police official AN Upadhya.

The rebels carried out the blast when the policemen were returning after their election duty at polling booths in the region.

Chhattisgarh is one of the six Indian states holding elections.
