New Delhi - The captain and six crew members of a ship taken by Somali pirates returned home to India Tuesday after two months in captivity and called for a concerted effort to end piracy in the Gulf of Aden.

"It is a very serious issue," Captain Prabhat Goyal said. "The Gulf of Aden cannot be closed or kept at ransom because all of us, either on the east or west of it, will suffer. The route has huge economic proportions attached to it."

New Delhi, Nov. 25: The captain of the hijacked Japanese owned cargo vessel "MT Stolt Valor", Prabhat Goyal, today said that Somali pirates were using many hijacked ships abandoned by their owners as mother vessels for piracy.

Expressing relief at returning home, Goyal said they had lost all hopes of coming back.

New Delhi - India has scheduled talks with Turkey and Israel next month for a pipeline project that could help it access crude supplies from the Central Asian and Caspian region, a news report said Tuesday.

"It is not a simple project," Turkish energy minister, Hilmi Guler, told the Mint business daily. "In one month there will be a trilateral meeting between India, Israel and Turkey. This meeting is likely to be held in Turkey."

In a shocking development, the Delhi police had arrested six students including two MBA students for kidnapping a 15-year-old Class IX student from Saket in south Delhi.

The 15 year old Arjun Verma was kidnapped on the morning of November 20 from Saket while he was going to school.

The police arrested Piyush Jain (21) and Rohit Chopra (24) — Jain is pursuing MBA from IMT-Ghaziabad, and the latter doing BBA from IGNOU. The third youth, Bharat Jhamb, 21, is a cousin of the victim.

Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel on Saturday asked the Airline industry to cut air fares for making air travel cheaper in the country. The government has helped the industry and it is waiting for positive response from the aviation companies.
