New Delhi, Apr 10 : Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram has lashed out at the Indian Premier League (IPL) organisers for taking the cash-rich Twenty20 tournament out of the country.
"We could have done it, but only if the IPL organisers had reflected on the concerns of the police and not tried to pressurize the State chief ministers," he told the CNN-IBN television channel in an interview.

According to domestic institutional investors, the debt-ridden Indian real estate bigwig Unitech Ltd intends raising Rs. 1,250 crore by way of a qualified institutional placement (QIP) of shares, for the repayment of part of its debt of more than Rs. 8,000 crore.
An unnamed company official said that the funds, likely to be raised by the end of this month, would help the company cut its debt by Rs 1,000 crore by June this year.
New Delhi, Apr. 10 : CPI (M) General Secretary Prakash Karat said on Friday that NCP chief Sharad Pawar may join the Third Front after the elections, as the "logic would lead him towards this option."
"Right now we are not having any understanding with him regarding the Third Front... But I think the logic of the situation would lead him to also consider this option," Karat told NDTV.
The CPI (M) leader admitted that Pawar would have various options open after the elections, but ultimately it could be Third Front that he may choose.
New Delhi, Apr 9 : The Congress on Thursday announced that senior party leaders and co-accused in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots case- Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar would not contest this year's general elections.
Kumar was the party's Lok Sabha candidate from South Delhi, while Tytler was the North-East Delhi nominee.
United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Chairperson Sonia Gandhi asked both leaders to withdraw their Lok Sabha candidatures.
All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary Janardan Diwedi said the decision on their replacement would be taken soon.
