Soha attacks Sharmila

soha attacks SharmilaSoha Ali Khan had done her homework much before the interview. She had vowed to take every question with a cool head, promised not to answer any controversial questions and of course, questions about her personal life.

But this one question — 'Are you planning to do a Phd in Politicial Science?' — challenged her poise. "My mother told you this, isn't it? She is spreading rumours against me. Oh my God; I am tired of explaining this. It's so not true," Soha says.

Ali gets hurt,thanks to Swapnil!

It seems like an old rivalry has re-surfaced on Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Idiot Box's Ghar Ki Baat Hai sets on Sunday. During a shooting sequence where Ali Asgar (holding a whip in his hand) was required to teach Swapnil Joshi how to jiggle, the latter snatched the whip from Ali and hurt him very badly. And this improvisation wasn't part of the bound script! According to rumours, this was Swapnil's attempt to take revenge on Ali who won Comedy Circus whereas Swapnil was a runner-up on the same show.

Democratic chic

The Fashion and Design Promotion Council of India aims to be different, at least that's what Vijay Singh, secretary and CEO of FDPC says. To begin with there will be equal importance given to cities such as Mumbai, Kolkata and Bangalore. Vijay Singh says, "We will open an office in Mumbai at Prabhadevi in March, offices in other cities will follow. By creating a chapter/office and being very regional, we plan to create awareness and increase participation from that area." He further adds, "Mumbai and Delhi have always been at the centre of fashion. What we want is that designers from every region should be appreciated."

Peace, please!

Kunal KhemuThe film's promos have been released and it's Sonu Sood who looks more like the hero of the Dhoondte Reh Jaoge than Kunal Khemu who's also playing a pivotal role.

"I don't know whether you are trying to sniff out a controversy here. But I am not uncomfortable about sharing the limelight with anybody. This film has an ensemble cast and Sonu is an important part of the film. So what's wrong if he gets his fair share of the limelight? For that matter, I would say even Paresh Rawal is no less than a hero in the film if you look at his role and screen presence," says Kunal, whose last outing as a hero in Superstar didn't bring in the desired results.

'My average looks have worked well'

Of course you remember the scrawny looking guy with curly hair who played the head lamp hanging upside down; who light up the king's supper with a brilliant smile in the popular Happy-Dent ad. Well things have luckily turned around for this young chap since the time he starred in this ad. Sachin Nayak's latest venture is the ongoing film Siddhartha — The Prisoner where he plays a lead role with Rajat Kapoor.

They've got peanuts

It's not news that Anees Bazmi's film titled Benaam (now called Naam starring Ajay Devgan, Sameera Reddy and Bhumika Chawla) has been lying on the shelves for quite a few years. But little do people know that the movie has been shot completely and that producer, Dinesh Patel has no money left for the post-production.

In the past, Patel had given a break to actor Ajay Devgan in Phool Aur Kaante. So, in order to help the producer who had once-upon-a-time given him a break, Ajay Devgan requested good friend, Anees Bazmi to come to Dinesh's rescue, and now, after so many years after the movie has been shot, the film is being worked on once again. And for free!
