Tannishtha Chatterjee is a Bengali Indian actress who has worked in India and Europe with well-known Indian and international directors. She is often referred by the Indian Media as the Princess of Parallel Cinema.
Her first film ‘Swaraj’ won a National Film Award.
Tannishtha's performance in the German film, ‘Shadows of Time’ earned her critical acclaim. It took her to international film festivals like Toronto and Berlin. Thereafter she did an Indo-French film, ‘Let the Wind Blow’. The film was directed by Partho Sengupta and won in the best film category at the Durban International Film Festival.
