London, Mar 23 : Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has confirmed that Britain has been placed on terror alert, and warned that an attack on the country is "highly likely."

She said the country would train 60,000 shop and hotel staff to deal with any untoward incident.

Speaking ahead of the publication of a new anti-terrorism strategy, Jacqui Smith said: "An attack on this country is highly likely. It could happen without warning."

London, Mar 23 : Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has in no way gained favour with his current girlfriend Gabriela Entringer's police chief dad, who has told her to stay away from the footie star.

Ronaldo, 24, has been dating the Brazilian fitness trainer since he met her at a nightclub six weeks ago, but Entringer's dad, Jadson, has begged her to get rid of the Manchester United player.

"Jadson has become a bundle of nerves over this," the Daily Star quoted Gabi's mother, Rosana Entringer, as saying.

Luckens, 31, who is based in Sydney, wanted to fly around the globe from his home in Cronulla to be with Goody during her ordeal, but he was scared a five-year rift with his mother, Jackiey Budden, would make the situation even worse.

The funeral took place at St Peter''s Episcopal Church in Millbrook, near to the home the late actress' shared with her husband Liam Neeson and two children.

Natasha's husband Liam Neeson, dressed in a black suit and sunglasses, was among the pallbearers for his wife''s coffin.

According to the Mirror, he looked grim.
