He seemed totally devoted to his wife of many years Joanne Woodward and children. He even set up a foundation for drug abuse prevention in memory of his son Scott Newman who died from a an accidental drug overdose in 1978.

US Congress pays tribute to late legend Paul Newman

Paul NewmanWashington, Feb 25 : Hollywood legend Paul Newman was given a posthumous honour on Tuesday as the U. S. House of Representatives approved a resolution recognizing the actor''s life and achievements.

The move was introduced by Rep. Steve Cohen, a Democrat from Tennessee, who introduced the move honouring the Oscar winner on the House floor in Washington.

Newman lost his battle with cancer in September last year, reports Contactmusic.

Jim Jordan, a Republican from the actor''s native state of Ohio, was among the House members to pay tribute to Newman.
