Drawing a parallel between Zardari and former president Pervez Musharraf, he said that the former had no right to exonerate the latter from his Nov 7 unconstitutional acts and slaughter of people (at Lal Masjid) in pursuance of the US’ agenda.

Washington, Aug 28 : In order to chalk out a strategy to combat the escalating violence along the Pak-Afghan border, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff secretly convened a secret meeting of the most senior American and Pakistani commanders on an aircraft carrier in the Indian Ocean on Tuesday.

The gathering aboard the Abraham Lincoln was less confrontational in tone, aides said. “It was one of those meetings to help clear up the situation, get an understanding of the issues, and look for a way forward,” said a senior Pakistani officer privy to what was discussed at the meeting.

CNG sold in Pak at double the India rateKarachi, Aug 28 : The CNG (compressed natural gas) is sold in Pakistan at more than double the rate of what it is sold at in India, despite the fact that the former is a producer of the fuel and the latter is an importer, said Sindh Bar Council’s (SBC) Human Rights Committee chairman, Adv Aqil Lodhi in a press statement.

He said while in Pakistan CNG is sold at Rs 22 per kg, it is sold at Rs 44.50 in India, and also called for a reduction of the price of CNG to Rs 27.50 per kg.
