Suicide bomber kills four Pakistani soldiers in north-west

Pakistan MapIslamabad - A suicide bomber on Wednesday killed at least four soldiers in Pakistan's north-western district of Charsadda near the Afghan frontier, a police official said.

The bomber rammed his explosive-laden motor rickshaw into a vehicle transporting Frontier Corps (FC) paramilitary troops in the Pir Qala area bordering the lawless Mohmand tribal region.

"According to initial reports, four FC men were killed in the explosion while half a dozen wounded were shifted to the hospital," a local police official, Mohammad Zaheer, said.

Sharif seeks National Assembly session on Mumbai attacksIslamabad, Dec 3 : Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has asked the government to summon a session of the National Assembly immediately to discuss the Mumbai attacks.

Addressing a news conference here on Tuesday, Sharif said, “Parliament should discuss the situation in the backdrop of Mumbai attacks.

He made it clear that the PML-N never wanted to play to the gallery or score points over the security of Pakistan, while India showed an irresponsible attitude by accusing Pakistan and its institutions of supporting the attack.

Pakistan will not hand over any terror suspect to India

Islamabad, Dec 3 : Pakistan will not hand over to India any terror suspects that New Delhi says it has, official sources said here today.

According to the Indian media reports, New Delhi has demanded that Islamabad hand over 20 suspected persons, including Dawood Ibrahim, the mastermind of the 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai.

Others include Jamaat-ul-Dawah chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed and Jaish-e-Muhammad founder Maulana Masood Azhar, who was released by the Indian Government to save hostages seized in 1999.

Pakistan refuses to hand over terror suspects to India

Islamabad  - Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari refused to extradite 20 suspects identified in India's list of wanted criminals, saying they would be tried in Pakistan if New Delhi provided hard evidence, media reports said Wednesday.

"I am definitely going to look into all the possibility of any proof that is given to us. At the moment, these are just names of individuals. No proof, no investigation, nothing has been brought forward," Zardari said on CNN's Larry King Live program Tuesday night.

If proof of criminal activity is provided, "we would try them in our courts, we would try them in our land, and we would sentence them," he added.

McCain urges Pakistan to assist Mumbai attacks probe

Dhaka  - The defeated American presidential candidate Senator John McCain said Wednesday he hopes Pakistan will assist India in its probe into the Mumbai terror attacks that left 187 people dead last week.

"We expect soon the government of Pakistan will cooperate fully with transparency and efforts to track down and bring to justice the evil-doers and those behind this terrible tragedy and outrageous act of terrorism in Mumbai," McCain said in Dhaka.

Six American were killed in the brazen 60-hour attacks on key Mumbai landmarks.

"Lessons learned here is a compelling argument for all of us to work together," he said, wrapping up his 11-hour trip to Dhaka as part of a regional trip to Asia.
