Zardari asks for Concrete ProofsPresident Asif Ali Zardari said on Friday that Pakistan is awaiting "concrete proof" on suspicions that a Pakistan-based militant group was behind Mumbai attacks. Meanwhile recently discovered evidence indicate that the Mumbai attacks were controlled from at least two Pakistani cities by top leaders of the Pakistan-based terror group LeT, prime suspect in last week's attacks.

"Pakistan is currently doing its own internal investigation and is waiting for concrete proof to be handed over to us," Zardari told reporters after a trilateral meeting with the leaders of Turkey and Afghanistan.

"The talks are on hold till the atmosphere is conducive for such an engagement. It's not possible to carry on the dialogue in this atmosphere," revealed highly-placed sources.

The decision has come in the wake of emergence of fool-proof evidence of the involvement of not only Pakistan-based elements but also its Inter Services Intelligence
(ISI) in the Mumbai blasts.

Clashes kill one soldier, over a dozen Taliban in Pakistan

Pakistan MapIslamabad - At least one soldier and 13 Taliban militants were killed on Saturday in clashes between security forces and Islamic militants in Pakistan's north-western Swat valley, a military spokesman claimed.

Pakistani troops have been fighting the followers of a radical cleric Maulana Fazlullha, who wants to enforce Taliban rule in Swat, a scenic valley that was formerly a popular tourist destination, since late last year.

"The security forces engaged the suspected hideouts of miscreants in Nalkot area of Matta sub-district," a local military spokesman Colonel Nadeem Ahmad said.

An explosive-laden car detonated late Friday when people were shopping for Muslim festival of Eid ul Adha in Koocha Risaldar near city's historic Qissa Khwani Bazaar.

Several nearby buildings caught fire following the high-intensity blast, making it difficult for the rescue workers to move the dead and injured from the narrow street.
