Islamabad June 28: Pakistan’s Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Raja Abdur Rehman has been asked to submit a report within a fortnight on Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan's detention.
The single bench of the Islamabad High Court headed by Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Aslam heard a writ petition filed by advocate Javed Iqbal Jafferi.
According to the Daily Times, Rehman told the court that Dr. Khan was not being kept in detention, as visitors were being allowed to meet him.
Rehman said that Khan's security had been beefed up for his protection, and added, “Khan is making statements that are against national interest, which could tarnish Pakistan’s image at a critical time.”
