Indian Sikh offers refuge to Pervez Musharraf

Former Pakistan President Pervez MusharrafLahore, Aug 19: Amid rumours that no country is ready to provide refuge to former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf, an Indian Sikh Baldev Haeussler Singh from Ferozepur district in Punjab state has reportedly offered Musharraf his 350 acres of cultivated lands, well-bred horses, a bungalow and a luxury vehicle.

Singh, from village Lohara Kotli in Ferozepur said that he was a social activist. When asked about the reasons for his offer, Singh said, “Musharraf is a brave man and has his origins in India,” reported the Daily Times.

Malik’s statement is seen in contrast to prior statements from government sources who said that extra security staff provided to Musharraf had been recalled soon after his resignation.

Pak coalition partners set up committee to restore sacked judges

Islamabad, Aug 19: The four coalition partners in the Pakistan government last evening set up a committee to devise a framework for the restoration of sacked judges in accordance with the Murree Declaration as soon as possible.

According to sources privy to the development, the leaders of the four alliance partners met at Zardari House after former President Pervez Musharraf’s announced his resignation, to devise a strategy for the implementation of their joint agenda in a meeting that lasted for more than four hours.
