Washington, Aug 20: After former Pakistan president Pervez Musharraf yesterday declared that he had no plans to flee to some other country and wished to stay in his home country for the rest of his life calling Pakistan as his “first love”, Washington changed its earlier stand and said that it was ready to consider his asylum bid, if any.

Karachi, Aug 20: The Chinese government has reportedly detained 35 Pakistanis visiting China to watch Olympics after they were suspected of planning to attack proceedings of the Games.

China has asked the Pakistani government for details of the arrested in a letter that alleged 35 suspected Pakistani militants had arrived in China to attack proceedings at the Games, reported the Daily Times.

According to the paper, Col Anjum Sheikh Saeed of the Foreign Security Department wrote to the Interior Ministry on August 18 ordering the authorities concerned to collect details of those detained.

Peshawar, Aug 19 : A bomb blast outside a hospital in northwest Pakistan’s Dera Ismail Khan, located about 300 km from here, on Tuesday killed at least 20 people and injured 15 others, official sources said.

"We don''t know whether it was a suicide attack. I have initial reports of 20 dead," said Syed Mohsin Shah, said a senior government official.

According to reports, the scene outside the Dera Ismail Khan District Hospital saw 18 bodies on the ground immediately after the blast.

Jeddah, Aug 19: Saudi Arabia was interested in security, stability and sovereignty of Pakistan and had not, and will not, interfere in its internal political affairs, said ambassador Fahim Hamed today.

He also denied the reports suggesting that a Saudi plane was ready in Islamabad to transfer to Musharraf to Saudi. “This news is totally lacking in truth and is fabricated,” okaz. com quoted him as saying.
