Pakistani hubby stole my baby, says Malaysian woman

Kuala Lumpur, Aug. 7 : A Malaysian woman has claimed that her three-month-old baby was abducted by her Pakistani husband and taken to Dubai.

Salwanis Maaz, 31, said her husband, Nasir Mahmood Qadri Nisar Ahmad, 39, had taken their son, Muhammad Bilal, on July 26.

The New Strait Times quoted Salwanis as saying: "A few days before they disappeared, my husband brought several people to our home. He introduced them as his cousins and received RM 3,000 from them. A few days later, he received another RM 20,000, which he claimed was another gift from his cousins."

The next morning, Nasir told Salwanis that he wanted to go out and took their son with him. That was the last Salwanis saw her son.

Sindh Interior Ministry denies masterminds of Indian bombings in Pakistan

PakistanIslamabad, Aug. 7 : The interior ministry in Pakistan''s Sindh Province has rejected a report that the two masterminds of the recent bombings in Ahmedabad and Bangalore are residing in Karachi.

Rebutting a Rediff. com report that said that two Karachi-based Indians "Parti" and ëPatangiya" were present in Karachi, senior Sindh Home Department officials told The News that no agency had any record of these names.

Pak consulate staffer accused of aiding Taliban to weaken Afghan govt

Kabul, Aug 7: Afghanistan’s spy agency - the National Directorate of Security has reportedly accused a member of the Pakistan consulate in Kabul that he was proving aid to the Taliban to weaken the Afghan government.

Without disclosing the name of the Pakistan consulate staffer, the spy agency maintained that he gave “orders and money” to Mullah Rahmatullah, a Taliban militant in the region who was captured earlier this week.

The spy agency added that this information was gathered during the interrogation of a Taliban militant captured by Afghan intelligence agents on Tuesday.

Key Taliban leader among 14 militants killed in Swat Valley

Mingora (NWFP), Aug 7 : Pakistan security forces gunned down prominent Taliban leader Ali Bakht and 13 other militants during clashes in the Swat valley which lasted till late last evening.

Bakht was head of the Taliban committee holding negotiations with the NWFP government and a key aide of rebel cleric Mullah Fazlullah.

Taliban spokesman Muslim Khan confirmed Bakht’s killing in the Dewlay area of Kabal tehsil, reported the Daily Times.

According to the local resident, the clashed erupted when security forces razed the houses of Ali Bakht, his brother Ibrahim and two other militant commanders, upon which the militants attacked the troops. The clashed lasted for around five hours, added the locals.

The fighting broke out late Wednesday when scores of militants attacked a check post in Bajaur's Loi Sam area located close to the Afghan border.

"Initial reports say at least 25 militants have been killed in the retaliatory action," a senior security official said on condition of anonymity.
