Dhaka - A senior US State Department official Saturday assured that Washington would support Bangladesh's proposal for a regional anti-terrorism taskforce in South Asia.

"It is a good idea. We will see how other countries in the region react. We will look forward to supporting it, if needed," the US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Richard A Boucher, said after a meeting with Bangladesh Home Minister Sahara Khatun.

Munich - US Vice President Joe Biden on Saturday promised greater cooperation with European allies on security issues, but only in exchange for greater European contributions to fighting global security threats.

Biden's speech before the Munich Security Conference, billed as the new US administration's first glimpse of an overarching security and defence policy, presented a laundry list of US priorities around the world, combined with a promise of greater US humility in addressing those issues.

New York, February 7 : A new report shows that New York City is the most expensive place to live in the U. S., and that one needs to earn six figures to make middle class there.

Released by the Center for an Urban Future, the report suggests that it is very expensive for the middle class in New York City due to skyrocketing living costs and stagnant wages.

It says that a New Yorker would have to make 123,322 dollars a year to have the same standard of living as someone making 50,000 dollars in Houston.

Washington, Feb 7 : First Lady Michelle Obama's designer Jason Wu, who designed her inaugural ceremony gown, has been applauded by America''s Humane Society for not using animal fur.

The animal lover society was glad that the designer kept away from fur.

"We are delighted that Jason Wu has put aside the cruelty of fur for now, and hope he will adopt a permanent fur-free policy," Contactmusic quoted a American Humane Society spokesman as saying.
