Tata Power declares health profits of June quarter
The power distribution arm of Tata- Tata Power declared a consolidated net profit of Rs. 317.67 crores in this quarter. This rise in profits is largely because of the mammoth increase in the company's retail consumers in quarter ending in June. The company added around 18,300 retail consumers in this quarter in Mumbai region itself.
The company has witnessed a net profit of Rs. 552.76 crores at the same time during last year. This dip in the profits was largely due to Rs 154 crore losses incurred by the company. This was majorly because of the realignment of CGPL borrowings and along with Rs 232.40 crore it received through MERC tariff orders and a judgement of ATE.
The company that has currently 200 mw installed capacity in wind power is quite optimistic with this growth and is expecting a high growth from its renewable energy source business.
The primary reason for this is the addition of newer set of regulatory guidelines for generation set in. Moreover the company also has a balanced mix of portfolio comprising wind, solar and geothermal energy in the right manner.
The company has even plans to set up an additional 150 mw capacity in Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
