Tata Motors launches ‘Swipe & drive away’ scheme to boost Nano sales

Tata Motors launches ‘Swipe & drive away’ scheme to boost Nano salesIn a bid to boost sales of Nano, Tata Motors has announced the launch of an innovative marketing scheme dubbed `Swipe & drive away,' which enables customers to order and take the car home on the same day.

The new marketing scheme allows customers to purchase a Nano car using their credit card, and drive off with the ultra-low cost car on the very same day.

Ranjit Yadav, president of passenger vehicles business unit at Tata Motors, said, "This offer will enable customers to own a car in the fastest and hassle-free manner."

Under the scheme, customers can also convert the total amount in monthly installments at zero per cent interest rate over a period of 12 months. The EMI has been fixed at Rs 8,333 per lakh.

For the scheme, which is available at 75 dealerships of Tata Motors in 26 cities across the country, the manufacturer has partnered with ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and HSBC Bank.

The move aims at arresting declining sales of the Nano by making the car available to the interested people with minimum hassles.

Cars account for nearly 33 per cent of Tata Motors' domestic business, but Nano accounts for just 7 per cent. Sales of the Nano slipped 77 per cent in the October to December quarter to merely 4004 units, from 17735 units in the corresponding period of the previous year.
