Tanvir inked contract with Surrey
The English county Surrey has signed Pakistan's left-arm pace bowler Sohail Tanvir as the second overseas player for the rest of the ongoing season as reported by Sports Management Company which represents Tanvir on Friday.
The company conveyed that Gus Mackay, Chief Executive of Surrey showed confidence on Tanvir and he selcted him from shortlisted bowlers from Pakistan ands India to play for at least two months for Surrey.
Tanvir was not inclufed in the Pakistan squad for the ODII series against sri Lanka while he Pakistan Cricket Bpioard named him in the probalble list of 30 player for the Champions Trophy which will be played from 23 september.
Tanvir, the best bowler in inaugural edition of the first Indian Premier League, was struugling with his form in the recent past but he impressed with his performance in the charity match at Lords on June 6 for IPL Rajathan Royals against Middlesex .
Tanvir's manager Salman Ahmed also statd that Hampshire has shown keen interest in contracting pace bowler Umar Gul for the rest of the ongoing season.
