Talks on to stave-off Air India pilots strike
An Air India official has informed that talks have started to stave-off a strike by Air India pilots. The pilots have called for a strike from Wednesday. Now the management and the union are discussing several issues of the Air India pilots so that the strike can be staved off.
One of the company officials has informed that discussions are on and arbitration is also going on between the union and the management. He has also said that, this strike will have a huge impact on the services of Air India.
The senior Air India official has also added that the airline is facing huge trouble now-a-days and such strikes will make the condition worse.
The Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) had already served notice on 23rd of February for striking from 9th of March. ICPA is a group of pilots from the erstwhile Indian Airlines. This group has now merged with flag carrier Air India. ICPA General Secretary Captain Rishabh Kapoor has commented that they have served the strike call notice more than 14 days.
This has been done as per Section 22 of the Industrial Disputes Act. So they will go on this strike work from Wednesday.
