Sussex announces Champions League squad
English domestic team Sussex has named a 15-member squad for the T20 Champions League. England wicket-keeper Matt Prior has been left from the squad due to busy international schedule of England team in the upcoming month.
England Cricket Board (ECB) thanked Sussex for leaving Matt free to play in the International matches. Andrew Hodd will replace Matt as a wicket-keeper batsman while youngster Ben Brown will be reserve wicket-keeper.
Sussex squad led by Mike Yardy features many international players including England all-rounder Luke Wright, Indian leg-spinner Piyush Chawla, Pakistani seamer Yasir Arafat and West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Smith.
Yardy admitted that he is excited to tour Indian continent and they feel proud to be one of the two English county teams to represent their country in the lucrative and cash rich T 20 Champions League.
Sussex Champions League squad includes M Yardy (captain), Y Arafat, W Beer, B Brown (wkt), P Chawla, J Gatting, R Hamilton-Brown, A Hodd (wkt), E Joyce, C Keegan, J Kirtley, R Martin-Jenkins, C Nash, D Smith and L Wright.
