Suicide-attack-hit Pak’s Marriott hotel to have bombproof wall
Islamabad, Nov 17 : The Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, which faced the most dreadful suicide attack in Pakistan’s history claiming more than 50 lives, will have a bomb-proof wall around it to protect it against terrorist attacks in the future, said the hotel administration.
Quoting hotel sources, a TV channel reported that a concrete wall would also be built alongside the bombproof wall.
Visitors would not be allowed to bring their vehicles into the venue and would only be allowed entry into the hotel after thorough scanning in a special bombproof room adjacent to the wall, the Daily Times quoted hotel sources as saying.
The windowpanes of the building would also be shockproof, the administration said and added that the proposed bombproof wall would have the capacity to withstand a blast of any magnitude. (ANI)
