Stephen Hawking says heaven is a fairy tale

Stephen Hawking says heaven is a fairy taleStephen Hawking has caused a controversy and backlash after he said that there is no heaven and it a myth.

Hawking is a theoretical physicist whose body is paralyzed by motor neurone disease. He says that humans are like a computer that will stop working when its components fail. “There is no heaven or afterlife for broken-down computers; that is a fairy story for people afraid of the dark,” he said while speaking to a media company.

He has said in his book, ‘Grand Design’ that the Big Bang created the world and dismissed the idea of God. His beliefs have triggered revolts and much backlash.

Hawking has been honored with the Royal Society's most prestigious prize for scientific achievement. His theories win acclaim as well as criticism as philosophers say that he not only undermines religion but also free will.
