Spanco Telesystems & Solutions, a Mumbai-based telecom solutions provider, has secured a contract worth Rs 70 crore from Orissa Government to roll out of a State Wide Area Network (SWAN) across the state of Orissa. Under the contract, Spanco along with ITI will Build Own and operate a state wide network connecting 30 districts and 284 talukas in the state of Orissa, before transferring it to the State Government at the end of five years. After the announcement, the stock price of the Spanco Telesystems climbed to Rs 100, but later settled at Rs 97 on BSE.
