SpaceX Releases Photos and Illustrations Showcasing Its Approach to Land on Mars
SpaceX has always been known for its big pans to usher in a new era of reusable rockets that can one day carry astronauts to the Red Planet and return them back on earth. The Elon Musk owned private company recently revealed some video animations and illustrations that show SpaceX’s revolutionary approach to land on Mars.
These animations and illustrations are not just a fiction or propaganda, the company said. They are actually a way for the company to visualize the future and make it turn into a reality.
Back in 2011, SpaceX released a video showing how they will be going to re-land a rocket booster after launching it to space. And now in 2015, SpaceX turned its video into reality when it began attempting to land their rockets exactly how they had envisioned in the video.
The latest photos and illustration have been released by the aerospace manufacturer on SpaceX's Flickr account. One can see something that appears even cooler than landing a rocket on earth as the craft in the video lands on Mars.
After seeing the illustrations one can judge that SpaceX is planning to land on Mars using a super-simple approach that has never been tried before.
As per the company, it will firsts send its Dragon capsule to Mars before transporting a crew on board its Crew Dragon spacecraft. Its Crew dragon spacecraft is specifically designed to carry seven astronauts at a time and is currently being tested by SpaceX for its debut launch, scheduled for 2017.
Dragon capsule in past has made several trips to the International Space Station (ISS) since 2010. But in order to reach Mars the Dragon will need to ride a more powerful rocket than the Falcon 9, which it takes to the ISS.
