SMEs most optimistic about future
A survey of done by The National Australia Bank (NAB), has found out that the level of optimism amongst the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) is at the highest level since the global financial crisis struck.
Known as the Quarterly Small Business Survey, it found that the owners of most of the SMEs expect the future to be better for earning profits. They believed this since the business conditions and the consumer confidence have bounced back.
Geoff Greer, Executive at NAB said that the survey results have clearly suggested in the direction of optimism. The confidence index has shot up by 44 points after touching the level of minus 23 points.
This means that there would be real growth in this segment. What is worth mentioning is that there was no regional issue involved and all the states showed the high level of optimism.
However, it was South Australia which saw most of the increase. The index for the region went up from 24 to 31. It was followed by Western Australia and then came Queensland. Western region increased by 13 points and Queensland by 5 points.
