Shahbaz says Dogar offered Nawaz scrapping of disqualification case

Shahbaz SharifIslamabad, Feb 4 : Pakistan Punjab province Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar had offered PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif scrapping of the case regarding his disqualification on showing flexibility over judges issue.

Shahbaz said that PML-N would not accept judges who flourished under a dictator's umbrella.

He threatened to launch a public struggle if he was disqualified, The Nation reported.

To a question about his resent meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari, he said: "Both the PPP and the PML-N have struggled and paid a lot for democracy in the country and I have asked him (Zardari) to brush off misunderstandings and follow the Charter of Democracy (CoD) to bring the country on track."

Shahbaz further said that rift between the two leading parties could have been avoided if any of the signed agreements were honoured.

Commenting on 17th Amendment and Presidential powers, Shahbaz said that President Zardari had pledged on these two issues but things had not yet been done as promised. (ANI)
