Sensex Opens Negative; Down 161 Pts

Sensex Opens Negative; Down 161 PtsBombay Stock Exchange (BSE) benchmark Sensex carry forward its declining trend for the sixth consecutive session today, belling the day 161 points down on continued selling along the lines of feeble worldwide trends and sober domestic market response on account of low industrial yield.

The 30-share index, which shed 440 points during the last five trading sessions, declined by another 160.91 points to 19,101.63 in the opening hours of trade on Wednesday, with real estate, CD and metal scrips remained stressed.

Likewise, the broad-based Nifty declined 50.15 points (0.86%) to 5,735.55.

Brokers stated that an undermining Asian tendency accompanied by lower ending in the US market influenced the trading reactions.

Additionally, a decline in the industrial production for February to 3.7% as against 3.9% during January also broke the market anticipations.

In the meantime, the Hong Kong's Hang Seng dipped 0.13% and the Japan's Nikkei remained 0.22% up during the early trade.

In the US, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 0.95% down during the previous session on Tuesday.
