Saina crashes out of WB ChampionshipIndian ace shuttler Sania Nehwal’s campaign has came to an end in the BWF World Badminton Championship as she went down to Wang Lin of China in the quarterfinal match of the women’s singles event at the Gachibowli indoor stadium in Hyderabad on Friday.

Saina was ousted in straight sets 21-16, 21-19 by her second seeded opponent. With this win, Lin has taken revenge of her defeat in the final of the Indonesian Super Series last month.

Saina had outplayed Petya Nedelcheva 18-21, 21-18, 21-10 to advance in the quarterfinal but Lin outsmarted Saina with her smashes to halt her campaign towards another title win.

The women’s World no 1 Mi Zhou and men’s World No. 1 Lee Chong Wei also crashed out of the tournament after losing their respective quarterfinal matches. Later in the day, Peter Gade (World No. 3) was also knocked out of the tournament after losing his quarterfinal match.
