Rolls-Royce planning to unleash its “Ghost” in India by the end of this yearThe wholly owned subsidiary of the BMW Group – Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has declared that it is planning to roll out its new global model “Ghost” in the Indian market by the end of this year.

The announcement from British manufacturer of luxury automobiles has come right after Tata Motors’ launch of marquee brands Jaguar and Land Rover.

The Regional Director, Asia Pacific, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, Colin Kelly has disclosed that “Ghost” will be formally exhibited at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The car will be showcased at the company’s showrooms in India, in November or December.

Announced at the Auto Shanghai show in April 2009, Rolls-Royce Ghost is a new, smaller ultra-luxury saloon automobile, designed by Ian Cameron and engineered by Helmut Riedl, who played leading role in the development of the fifth-generation Rolls-Royce Phantom.    

The international price of Rolls-Royce Ghost will be around will be around £170,000, or between between $250,000 and $270,000 (Rs1.2-1.3 crore). The price of Ghost in India will be further high because of taxes and import duties.
