Robredo joins the complaints queue in Madrid

Robredo joins the complaints queue in MadridMadrid - Spain's Tommy Robredo has joined the chorus of complaints growing over the unfinished state of the Magic Box, venue for this week's new Madrid Masters.

The 16th seed has a list of a shortcomings which need to be corrected.

"As is the case with new things all the time, it's difficult for everything to be perfect," said the Spaniard. "The gym is very small, the locker rooms are not that great, little things like that.

"When you come in with a car there is only one entrance so you have to wait. These are all little things that perhaps they didn't foresee happening. The accreditation process had some hitches, as did the arrangements for leaving tickets."

But Robredo reserved his toughest judgement for the state and number of the courts, adding his voice to that of Rafael Nadal who complained of bad bounces.

"The courts outside are rather bad, the closest ones are all right but the once furthest away are not in good shape. When the ball bounces, you are not sure where it is going to go.

"If they only finished the building 10 days ago, these things are to be expected. There are only only two training courts for men and two for women, otherwise you have to go inside.

"I think all of this is the result of having gone too fast or of having too little time to prepare. But the Magic Box is spectacular and the central court is beautiful, its fine but there are always little things." (dpa)
