Review Of 'Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu': Amateurish But A Good Watch!

Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai TuThe movie Shahrukh Bola Khoobsurat Hai Tu is basically a take on the matrix of the Indian society where obsession with stars is nothing less than well-an obsession!

The film is something of an experimental cinema, and the genre is drama by maintaining the essence of it throughout the one hour and fifty minutes duration of the film.

The story revolves around a young girl called Lali, who is a huge Shahrukh Khan fan sells flowers at traffic signals. On one such working day when she goes out to sell her flowers, she spots the super star, Shahrukh Khan at the signal. As she is busy trying to convince him to buy her flowers, Shahrukh happens to casually give her a compliment and tells her she is beautiful. This casual statement becomes the greatest turning point in the flower seller's life.

Being a young girl and as obsessed as any other young girl in the country with stars, she changes her entire thinking process and starts to live a life of fantasy. Lali begins to avoid the local book seller John who had a soft corner for her and who in turn goes to seek solace in the arms of the bar girl who always had had an eye on John.

Thus, as Lali lives in her own life of self boosted energy which was the result of just one statement from the super star Shahrukh Khan, John is fast being convinced by the bar girl to change his profession and start driving an auto rickshaw, a very common form of transport in the cosmopolitan city of Mumbai.

The other characters like the local cop and a journalist are also dragged into the drama that ensues due to Shahrukh Khan's statement.

The movie is fun and amateurish, and is a good watch- albeit with a pinch of salt.

The basic pun on film stars and the obsession of the common man cannot be missed, but the fun element sprinkled with a bit of humor here and there makes the movie fun to watch, though on the Bollywood entertaining front, it lags behind. The only star attraction is Shahrukh in a cameo and his shot in his own bungalow mannat. Watch it if you're looking for some dramatic scenes with a touch of everyday life!
