Researchers Create Anti-Depressant Tablet For Dogs!
Researchers have produced Reconcile, an anti-depressant medicine for dogs.
Reconcile can be utilized to handle a canine compulsive disorder in which defective genes associate with anxiety to create excessive licking, mewling and tail-chasing.
And recalling dogs’ taste buds, the medicine comes in a beef-flavoured chewable form and is also likely to control compulsive pacing, jawing and trickling.
Prozac, which has been utilized to treat compulsive behaviour in human beings, works by escalating the brain’s intensities of serotonin, a mood-lifting chemical.
Eli Lilly, the drug’s US maker, which has been granted a licence by Britain’s Veterinary Medicines Directorate, said, “Treatment for companion animals is a relatively new area for us.” (With Input from Agencies)
