U. S. researchers on Monday said that depression increases the risk of people with heart disease developing heart failure even if they take antidepressants.

Heidi May, an epidemiologist at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah, and lead author of the study said, "Our data suggest that depression is an important and emerging risk factor for heart failure among patients with coronary heart disease."

Islamabad, Apr. 14: The Chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Senator John Kerry has rejected claims that the drone attacks are encouraging terrorism in Pakistan.

"Make no mistake about it. Extremists, religious radicals and terrorism did not begin after drone attacks. So it is important for people to focus on that reality as well," the Dawn quoted Kerry, as saying.

Senator Kerry, who is in Islamabad to discuss the proposed aid package, said that the provisions attached with US aid package to Pakistan were only meant to improve the `effectiveness of aid'.

Washington, April 14 : Angelina Jolie has given her surety to People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) that the fur she used in her new movie Salt was fake.

The `Changeling' actress was snapped sporting a full-length chinchilla poncho along with a matching Russian style winter fur hat as she plays the role of Evelyn Salt, an outed Russian sleeper spy, in the upcoming thriller.

But her representatives confirmed to the animal activists that the fur used was not authentic.

Washington, Apr 14 : DJ Samantha Ronson has not taken time to move on after split from lesbian lover Lindsay Lohan, as she was reportedly spotted with a Lohan look-alike.

According to reports, Ronson was seen canoodling with the look-alike at L. A’s Chateau Marmont hotel.

Washington, April 14 : Scientists have discovered in experiments that the widespread die-off of drought-stressed trees across the southwestern United States during future droughts will occur at least five times faster if climate warms by 4 degrees Celsius.

The experiments were conducted at the University of Arizona’s Biosphere 2.

According to the scientists, quantitative information on how sensitive drought-stressed trees are to hotter temperatures is critical for predicting drastic, sudden and widespread die-offs.
